Facebook to Discontinue Facebook Gifts

Not sure if your guys saw this story on the Mashable website, or have noticed that the actual feature on Facebook has been “announcing” this – but Facebook is discontinuing their “Gifts” feature as of August 1st.  All of the gifts you have received thus far, will remain on your wall.  I really liked this aspect of Facebook.  I have friends spread out all over the world.  It was nice to be able to send them something via Facebook, just to let them know I was thinking about them, or to celebrate a special occasion.
